Step 1: Preparing the Ingredients
- Combine pumpkin puree, apple cider, orange juice, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract in a large bowl or pitcher. Stir until well mixed.
Step 2: Adding Alcohol (Optional)
- If making the alcoholic version, add the rum and stir well to combine.
Step 3: Chilling
- Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
Step 4: Serving
- Just before serving, add ice to individual glasses. Pour the punch over the ice, filling each glass about 3/4 full. Top with sparkling apple cider (if using) and garnish with orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.
Notes
For a smoother punch, you can blend the ingredients together before serving. Make sure your pumpkin puree is smooth with no lumps.
