Method
- Prepare sushi rice according to package directions and season with sushi vinegar.
- Lay nori sheet shiny side down on bamboo mat.
- Spread thin layer of rice on nori, leaving small space at top.
- Arrange fillings across center of rice.
- Using mat, lift bottom edge of nori over filling and roll tightly.
- Moisten top edge of nori to seal.
- Slice roll into even pieces with sharp knife.
- Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with other fillings like crab sticks, cooked shrimp, or julienned carrots. For a vegetarian version, omit the fish and add more veggies like bell pepper or tofu.
